Climate

Transylvania has a continental temperate climate typical of Central Europe.
Spring is usually mild, with pleasant mornings and evenings. The average temperature is 10.5°C.
Summers are long, warm and sunny with an average of 18.8°C. While it can be hot in Bucharest, the weather is always cooler in the mountains.
Autumn is generally wetter and cooler but full of colour (12°C).
Winters are cold with quantitative snowfalls and an average temperature of 0°C. It is not unusual for the snow to last until mid-March. Annually, precipitation (rain, melted snow, and other forms of moisture) ranges from about 40 inches (100 centimetres) in some mountain areas to less than 20 inches (50 centimetres) on the plains.
